Tips to Stop Auto Theft

Here are some tips to keep your car better protected from being taken by thieves.

  1. Never leave your personal belonging or keys inside the vehicle. Even if you’re just running into the gas station quickly or have a quiet neighborhood you should always keep your belongings in close reach.

  2. Lock your doors at all times. One of the top ways a criminal can easily take a vehicle or items in it is by leaving your doors unlocked and welcoming them in. Be sure you’re windows are also rolled up and also that your trunk is secured shut at all times.

  3.  Always think about where you’re parking your car. If you’re in an area you’re unfamiliar with or a large parking lot and you know it will be late and dark then try to keep your car in a well-lit area where it can be monitored by security cameras on the premises or deter thieves from even attempting to break in.
  4. Keep appropriate auto insurance coverages in place. It can be tempting to want to lower your spending each month and settle for the bare minimum insurance policies but having protections in place that give you peace of mind in case of a break-in or other damages are well worth it.
